Passing of John (Jack) O’Callaghan


The President, Committee, Members and management of the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club were saddened with the news this week of the passing of Mr John (Jack) O’Callaghan.

Jack O’Callaghan served the Club for six years as the inaugural Secretary/Manager of the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club (1971-1977).

The Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club wishes to acknowledge the services and efforts of Jack O’Callaghan during the formidable years of the Club, and we are sure he would be proud of his contribution to the Club and that it has continued to progress and grow as a strong Greyhound racing entity in the Latrobe Valley region, particularly with the current rebuild project.

Jack O’Callaghan passed away peacefully at the Brookfield Park Nursing Home in Traralgon on 21 October 2014 at the age of 93 years.

The Club wishes to pass on their sincere condolences to the O’Callaghan family for their loss.

The Club also wishes to take the opportunity of thanking Jack O’Callaghan for his contribution to Greyhound racing and the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club.

The funeral service for Jack O’Callaghan will be held at the Latrobe Valley Funeral Services Chapel, 437a Princes Drive, Morwell at 11.am on Tuesday 28 October 2014.
