GRV’s General Manager for Strategic Communication and Marketing Louise Martin has praised the unity of the greyhound racing industry as participants come to grips with raging bushfires in the Gippsland region.

Bushfires raging in Victoria’s Gippsland region are having a significant effect on the greyhound racing population with many families taking refuge at local race clubs.

Participants are advised that kennel blocks at the Cranbourne, Warragul and Traralgon greyhound clubs are currently open to accommodate the relocation of greyhounds on properties under fire threat.

For all those affected by the fire(s) currently burning in the Gippsland region (including the Grantville fire) the Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club has opened its kennels and these are available for greyhounds to be housed overnight and/ or over the weekend if necessary. Owners need to stay with their dogs while at the track.
