The first Cup meeting at Traralgon’s new $6.2 million racetrack will welcome once in a generation greyhound Fernando Bale as well as local hero Luca Neveelk.
The two champion greyhounds are part of three exciting heats that are set to be run this Saturday over the track’s 525m journey.
Fernando Bale, touted by some as the best greyhound to ever race, will jump from box four in the third and final heat of the cup and will be aiming for his eighth group title of the year. A title that could potentially increase his overall prize money beyond $900,000.
Traralgon manager and long time greyhound racing aficionado, Hec Caruana, is over the moon that quality greyhounds such as Fernando Bale and Luca Neveelk will race in the heats.
“We’re thrilled to welcome some of the country’s top greyhounds to our first Cup meeting at the new track.
“The talk of the town will be Fernando Bale but local greyhound Luca Neveelk will be the sentimental favourite.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing those top quality greyhounds race around our new track.”
