Classy sprinter Weblec Belle is favourite in Saturday night’s Floodfawn Classic (525m) at Traralgon.
The Jeff Britton-trained greyhound is – like Floodfawn – the only fawn coloured greyhound in the all-female race, which boasts $10,000 in prize money.
Floodfawn, bred by Arthur Cooper and trained by Peter Giles (whom she is pictured with above), has a record at Traralgon like no other greyhound, having had 15 wins at the track from 15 starts, a track record, and she also won the Traralgon Cup in 2001.
Her sire, Awesome Assassin, and dam, Floodgate, are both part of GRV’s Hall of Fame, while Floodfawn herself produced a number of top class greyhounds including a Victorian Greyhound of the Year winner, Flashing Floods.
The Floodfawn Classic is scheduled to run at 8:32pm on Saturday night.
